Historique
The Pioneer Churches on the Prairies is an ongoing project to record and document the historic churches established by the early settlers in northeastern Alberta. The first immigrants arrived in 1890s and continued to settle for decades afterwards.
This project has recorded over 100 churches and their cemeteries from several different religious denominations. The dedicated website has pages that consist of drone and regular high-resolution photographs; short descriptions and histories; links to a cemetery website with burial information; musical videos of the churches; photo galleries with over 3,500 images; and links to other related sources and resources.
